TOP 8 MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE

Let’s chat about the 8 most common and biggest mistakes to avoid when it comes to your boudoir experience!

8. BRINGING OUTFITS THAT DON’T FIT.
It is important to find the right fit, at different stores we can vary in sizes so please do not walk in convinced you are a certain size, and that you can squeeze into that size. Try the garments on make sure they are not digging in, or to lose fitting.

7. ARRIVING WITH A BAD ATTITUDE/DREADING THE EXPERIENCE OUTCOME
Girl, you feeling unsure or having negative body thoughts, or putting thoughts into your head about how you are going to hate the experience, hate the poses is a negative way to start your session… So I want you to take a deep breath, push those feeling and thoughts aside and focus on the exciting experience, how stepping outside of your comfort zone is going to bring you amazing rewards.

6. SKIPPING BREAKFAST DAY OF SESSION
Bloody hell! This one, please just eat breakfast! I don’t want to be mid-shoot, you feeling weak and like you’re about to pass out because you skipped breakfast – because what, you were worried you might bloat! No… eat your breakfast or a granola bar! Not eating will just leave you feeling weak and unable to keep up with the physical aspect of the shoot, like posing and will make you look pale, no one wants that!

5. STAYING INSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE.
I get it, this one can be scary but a quote that I have always loved is “a comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there“, so don’t be afraid to wear the lingerie set that shows a little bit more skin, to use the props, do a booty shot or to go nude during your shoot – you will be pleasantly surprised, and feel liberated stepping outside of your comfort zone.

4. NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER
2-4 weeks prior to your session, start cutting out unnessacary sugars such as soft drinks and replace that with water. Your skin and body will be thanking the both of us, as drinking extra water helps with flushing toxins and making the skin clearer and allowing the body to bounce back easier after the session.

3. OVERTHINKING AND GETTING IN YOUR HEAD
Your brain might be telling you to bail, to just back out and turn around… but I promise feeling nervous is 100% normal, and expected. Push through those nerves, the hardest part is driving here but it will all be worth it.

2. DRINKING ALCOHOL OR GOING OUT 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR SESSION.
I care about your safety and making sure you will get home safe, therefore if I believe you’ve been drinking then I will call a cab and send you home. You will also see in your images if you drank a little too much as you will appear tired and red in the face. The moral of the story is don’t drink within 24 hours of your session or have a late night.

1. ARRIVING TO YOUR SESSION LATE AND UNPEPARED
It is important to arrive at your sessions 10 minutes early, so plan ahead check google maps to make sure you know how long it will take to drive to the studio, where you are going, and where to park. Often my team of stylists has other clients scheduled after our session, therefore if you arrive late to your session then there is a potential a simpler look will need to be created, or your session having to be rescheduled, which would occur a reschedule fee.
